Operators sign up as reverse vending recycling moves up a gear

Following several successful installations of innovative reverse vending recycling machines (RVMs) in the UK, we can exclusively announce a new ‘partnership’ relationship involving the Reverse Vending Corporation and two renowned vending operators, aimed at developing the market for reverse vending recycling machines throughout the UK. Vendia UK, (incorporating Integer,Drinkmaster, VMI and Simply Drinks) for England and Wales and Stirlingshire Vending in Scotland, have teamed up with the Reverse Vending Corporation to launch reVend & Spend ™, a major new product innovation that combines banked vending and recycling RVM machines in an attractive and cost effective new offering to clients.

RVMs are automated machines that utilise advanced technology to identify, sort, collect and recycle used beverage containers – cans, PET plastic bottles and vending cups.

The new product offering from Vendia and Stirlingshire Vending is designed to encourage healthy drinks and drive forward the recycling of used beverage containers.

The reVend & Spend initiative can reward university, school and college students, as well as company employees and leisure centre visitors, for choosing healthier drinks and helping the environment, through a recycling incentive scheme, which is believed to be unique.

The RVM can automatically dispense incentive tickets, tokens or smart card points for each used beverage container recycled. This can be particularly helpful in cashless catering operations.

Donations may also be transferred automatically to charities by the RVM sophisticated in-built computer software, if preferred. The flexible reVend & Spend innovative recycling rewards scheme can assist with product promotion, advertising and issue discount incentives for purchases from vending machines.

Reliable and auditable recycling statistics are recorded automatically online by Reverse Vending Corporation’s electronic data management centre for clients to publish on their websites and can be made available to the government, NGO’s and trade associations.

“The reVend & Spend combined vending and recycling bank will bring an extra dimension to the excellent vending products and services already provided by Vendia and Stirlingshire Vending.

We are very pleased to be in partnership with these leading and well respected vending companies which are already well known for their innovative and pro-active approach to vending”

The Reverse Vending Corporation is to seek similar partnership relationships with established vending companies for its new concept.
